The new ALUO facility is designed as a simple rectangular cube, which moves away from Erjavčeva street into the existing spatial relations of today’s situation. The volume is placed in such a way that it creates a green square in front of it (on the site of today’s green area) and functions as a free-standing building – a ‘city palace’ that leaves space for the squares behind it.

The new ALUO is designed as a simple spatial structure – the building is organized around a central multi-storey lobby that connects all floors vertically.

The building is conceived as a series of stacked floor slabs – platforms on which all the required programs are realized in terms of the greatest possible flexibility (without additional supporting structures).

The desired spatial and programmatic flexibility is achieved by moving the constructions to the perimeter of the facade and the envelope of the central lobby – thus creating a ring of free surface (without structural barriers) on each floor, which can be used, divided and changed in accordance with current and future requirements.
